How to: Getting Lightbox and Lazy Load Working on WordPress (EASY)

When I rebooted my site I decided to install the jQuery Lazy Load plugin in conjunction with Lightbox 2 – the lightbox plugin I had been using for years. I noticed shortly after activating the Lazy Load plugin though that Lightbox 2 had stopped working.

I tried everything to get it to work – I installed Lightbox 3. I tried other Lazy Load plugins. Nothing worked. I searched google and the WordPress forums with no luck. Finally, frustrated, I posted a question on forrst, hoping someone could help me out.

Shortly after I got an awesome response, which triggered an embarassing face-palm moment. Of course these two plugins would conflict! They were using two different libraries! The solution was easy from there – I replaced Lightbox 2 with WP jQuery Lightbox and instantly my problem was solved (fyi: jQuery Lightbox did not work for me)!

Awesome – this was exactly the case with my site after having initialized “lazy load”!

Thanks for posting this solution over at the WP forums. Switching plugins was a breeze, nothing to change with regards to rel’s or anything else…

    Cheers!
