View Hidden Information From Myspace Profiles
Let’s face it. As much as we hate it and as much as it sucks from a programming and design POV, Myspace is one of those sites that most of us visit at least once a day. We all use it to keep in touch with friends and family, reunite with high school buddies and to network with new people. Sometimes your friends and family members try to be tricky. They copy little bits of code that hide certain Myspace information - like their friends list, comments or even their last login.
And as much as you deny it, you really want to know who’s in your boyfriend’s Top 8 right? Yeh, we all do. So what to do short of hacking into his Myspace? It’s easy, and here is how!
Here’s what you will need to view all hidden items on anybody’s myspace profile using Firefox or Internet Explorer. If you don’t want to download any addons/extensions to your browser you can use these instructions).
FireFox Instructions
A. The Simple Way:
- Navigate to Myspace Profile. Go to “View” then “Page Style” and choose “No style” (thanks to Dante)
B. My way (if you have the developer toolbar installed or want it installed):
- Download Firefox if you are not yet using it. And you should be.
- Download the Web Developer Extension. (You will be required to restart Firefox after downloading and installing this addon).
- Navigate to the profile with hidden content. On the toolbar for Web Developer click the “CSS” drop down. Choose “Disable Styles” than “All Styles”.
- Wait as the page reloads and WAHLA! All hidden content shown. This is also great for converting annoying Myspace layouts that have unreadable content due to clashing backgrounds or bad font color choices to the default style making it readable.
Internet Explore Instructions
- Download Internet Explorer Web DeveloperToolbar. To turn on the developer tool, go to “View” then “Explorer Bar” then “IE Developer Toolbar”. On the bottom of the screen a frame will appear with some options.
- Navigate to Myspace profile with hidden content.
- Choose the “Disable” on the menubar to the IE Developer Toolbar. Than choose “All Styles” from the drop down.
- View the default Myspace profile for that user. Reverse these steps to turn off the developer toolbar.
View Hidden Content on ANY browser
- Navigate to Myspace profile with hidden content on ANY browser.
- Right Click on page, and choose “View Source”. (Press CRTL + U in Firefox or go to “View” and than click on “Source” in IE’s menubar).
- The source file will open, most likely in Notepad. What do you want to find? Here’s a quick way to sludge through all the page source code.
- Friends List - press CRTL + F (or go to ) and in the search field type: “friendSpace”. Scroll down and you will see a lot of HTML/JS code, and the name and url to each friend that is listed.
- Comments - search for: “friendsComments”. Scroll down a little bit and you will see a lot of HTML/JS code and the name, comment and url to each commenter.
- Last Login - search for: “Last Login:”. Right beneath you will see the last date the person has been on.

Actually, if firefox teres an even easyer way, Click view -> page style and select No style, this will disable all css, makes myspace look even uglyer, but it works
Thanks Dante. I totally forgot about that, since I have Web Developer installed I always use that instead, not even thinking of the default Firefox options!

Well, we’re not actually changing anything here to make it “ugly”. We are just removing the extra crap some people load in there to hide certain things or to make profiles readable when designs overcome the content.

I want to view private profiles and pictures but am i doing something wrong? I downloaded firefox and the web developer and changed the style of the page but all i see is a blue screen and a list of things and at the bottom of the page is the “this profile is set to private”.. Help!
This does not allow you to view any profiles that are set to private. This only allows you to view people’s hidden information like friends list, comments etc. The only way you can see private profiles it become friends with that person.
