CSSgirl Sneak Peak!

POSTED IN: General, Personal

Yes, so I hate my site. And I have for well over a year now. But, while I’m busy making kickass websites for clients I have neglected poor CSSgirl.

So I have designed several CSSgirl versions since the end of 2006. And now almost two years later (!) I have finally ALMOST finished the new design, and I’m going to share a small sneak peak.

The new CSSgirl is slated to debut May 1st. I know! That’s insane and probably not going to happen, but I will work my hardest to push it out, but I will not neglect anything this time, like with this design.

Wordpress 2.5 Released; Wordpress.org Gets Makeover!

I’m so excited! I just logged on to read my RSS feeds and have found out that the long anticipated 2.5 version of WordPress has been released. The WordPress.org development blog has a detailed list of the new (and upgraded) features of WordPress itself, and the back end administration panel.

I’m downloading my copy right now, and while I’m a little bit hesitant, will be uploading it ASAP.

But, really, as silly as it may sound, I’m most excited about the new WordPress.org design. I don’t even know where to start about how vast an improvement this is over the previous design, which like WordPress, was very simple, very sparse. The new version isn’t guady, isn’t overbearing, but just is the perfect fit for WordPress. Simple and elegant. I believe that Happy Cog was the firm behind the new design of both WordPress.org and the new WordPress administration panel. Thanks to Jamie for pointing out that Matt Thomas was the one who worked on the design for the .org site! I swear I read that Happy Cog and Wordpress were working together on the WP site, but I was wrong!

Wordpress.org Wordpress.org Version 2

The things I can’t wait to test are the multi-file uploading (great for blogs who’s posts often contain several photos/images), tag management, galleries!, and of course the much talked about new administration panel. Well, I’m too excited to wait much longer, so I’m going to install and hope I don’t kill my blog :P

What Is Graphic Design

POSTED IN: General, Personal, Photoshop

Well, I have had very little time since I started my new job to get new articles out (expect a new article soon!) but I did have a few spare moments to enter Veerle’s awesome “What Is Graphic Design” contest and while I didn’t win anything, I thought it was super cool that one of my entries had caught Veerle’s attention (4th on page, can’t miss it, the one with all the yummy looking cupcakes!). You should definitely take a moment to check out all the super-awesome winning entries, and all the entries in the flickr pool!

These three were my entries:

Graphic Design is... Yummy Graphic Design is... Love Graphic Design is... Freedom

I wish I could find more contests and challenges like this so I can really exercise my creativity and push myself!

PS: I would have posted this in a timely matter a week ago, but unfortunately my Wordpress wasn’t working correctly due to an update by my host. Thankfully we’re back to normal, and finally using the most recent WP release!

This Is a Test

POSTED IN: General, Personal

Something is very wrong with my Wordpress. I have about 5 articles here waiting for publishing, but everytime I hit Save and Continue Editing, Save or Publish it just refreshed to my homepage…

Nothing new. Haven’t updated nor changed anything. Haven’t tried to publish anything until this Sunday. Last article was on the 9th.

Any ideas out there?
